Oh my golden golly! This smoothie is to die for.
Golden milk (or turmeric latte as it is trendily called) is a scrumptious blend of coconut or nut milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, honey and a pinch of black pepper to increase the bioavailability / super powers of turmeric. I love the idea of it. I love the fact that it is so incredibly good for you. But unfortunately in real life, I’m just not a fan of it as a hot drink.
In a smoothie on the other hand…oooooh yes! Granted, it will not have quite the same soothing qualities that a hot cuppa will have before bed, but it is absolutely delicious and totally works for smoothie-loving me!
Gluten, dairy, refined sugar, egg, nut & soy free, paleo, raw vegan
3/4 cup frozen mango
1/4 cup Little Bare coconut cream
1 cup water or other liquid such as coconut water or cooled chamomile tea
1 tsp turmeric powder or a 1 inch stick of fresh organic turmeric, grated
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger or 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
A squeeze of lemon juice
Pinch of black pepper
Blend ingredients together and add more spices to suit your taste!
